Maybe lately.
May 16, 2008
I recently lost my darkroom due to relocation of the photostore I work at. So I’ve been catching up with developing before that. I developed 11 rolls of random films that have been lying around for quite some time, and never gave much priority due to various reasons. But here they are now, and some frames surprised me in a nice way, so a new blogpost is in order.
But where to start?
Let’s keep it random and start in Autumn 2007 – on our way to a gig of Beirut in Paradiso, Amsterdam.
XD-7, 50/1.7, Trix400+2. All negscans.
I took a shitload of frames at the gig, but they’re quite… boring.
(It will get better, I promise)
Getting some food afterwards.
And back into the train.
“Mmmm!”
Ok. Let’s get back into time some more… Tooooo… August 2007. Berlin! Yes. It took me a year to develop my vacationphotos.
Acros100. I quite like. With the XD-7 & the 50/1.7 again.
Joost having an intense moment on the Mühlenstrasse. With slightly cut-off feet. Sorry, Joost.
Chilling out. Or being dead. Who knows? Maxyme said something about dissapearing Blow-Up style. Yes, I might need to check for handguns in bushes.
Our last day in Berlin and hanging out at the Reichstag. Still Acros100.
Me shot by Joost. Myrn in the background shooting pola’s.
The Reichstag from my perspective.
I was wondering about this frame, I think Joost shot it – cause it doesn’t seem like a composition I’d make. And I usually frame horizontally.
Looking semi-badass with Joost’s sunglasses on.
Myrna eating.
Myrna eating again.
Shot by Miek. Me mid-air.
KAZAAM! Lensflare.
In June 2007 me and Joost went to an exhibition of Learning To Love You More. We both participated and had some of our work included in the exhibit.
Trix-400+2 again, but this time shot on the SRT-101 with the 50/1.7. The SRT! Totally oldschool.
The exhibit was very nicely set up I think. Very random and playful. Also with a live DJ.
Having fun with mirrors in the bathroom. Classic. And Joost hiding his shoes.
Random lady in the frame laughing at with us.
Now for something more recent. Neopan1600 shot with the XD-7 and the 35/2.
Kladvorm meeting. Some sort of artistic platform for different media. Nice place for a serious business meeting: a pub. Great people too, by the way. With impressive stuff that they do.
Graphic designer Joeri.
Multi-artist Sam Vooren. Wicked stuff he makes.
My scanner… Oh man, how it causes me frustration. I quite like this frame, but my scanner does a great job messing it up. Eyecontact with writer Dennis. How’s that novel coming along, by the way?
Musicman Jop in the middle. And on the left droning Bert.
The guy with the intense & worried look is writer Willem.
(Warning: next frames are colour. Don’t be too shocked).
And now on to a photographer… Hanging out with Andi in Amsterdam, somewhere last month. Olympus XA with Superia800.
Poking fun at the minimum focusing distance of the XA, hehe.
Shot at about the same time.
Later that week, hanging out with Joost on his rooftop.
Neopan1600 with the XD-7.
And Superia800 loaded in the XA. The lab messed up some prints, my boss said I should be happy with that kind of free art!
Ok, that’s it for now. I’m not really digging the new way of uploading here on WordPress, it has given me a headache. I’m wondering why I’m blogging again? Thanks for dropping by anyway and take care.
