Crap Kraft Dinner.
March 8, 2008
I have been looking for a nice little pocketcamera for a while now and, after chatting with Jamie, I looked into the Olympus XA. A compact rangefinder from 1979 with 35/2.8 Zuiko lens, aperture priority, screw-on flash and the size of a pack of cigs. Sounded perfect, so I purchased one (in a great condition) for only €30,-.
And I must say I like it. The only thing I noticed so far is that it’s hard to read the shutterspeeds, but that’s no biggie since it’s aperture priority and I can guestimate good enough by now if we’re still in the “safe zone” (i.e. above 1/30th). Apart from that, I can always just flash the hell out of my subjects.
I guess it’s my new “no excuse to not have a camera with me” camera.
