Imaginary Ordinary
December 6, 2007
Some photos from the past months. Scanned and edited on my old pc. On my new screen the printscans look freaking messy. Bear with me.
Hanging at Myrna, somewhere in September I guess. Superia800, 50/1.7:

Miek joined. (Oh, how I could make a fun pun on joined and joint right now.)

Sundayjob at Marianne’s. Superia800, 50/1.7:

Hmm, a frame I really dig. I think I shot this in April. On our way to my grandfathers grave. Looks like tri-x. And 50/1.7. Not sure, too lazy to look it up.

Another Sunday at Marianne’s atelier. Superia1600, 35/2:

Her husband reading a book in the garden. Or: “Man, book, cat.”:

On my way home. Random cuteness:

Some time ago I got asked to do an exhibition for the new publication of an issue of ORP. The theme was Vinex.
From wikipedia:
“Vinex stands for “Vierde Nota Ruimtelijke Ordening Extra”, a notation of the ministry for housing, spatial scheduling, and environment management in the Netherlands (Ministry of VROM). Large outer city areas were pointed out in this notation for massive new housing development.”
This is what I printed, but not the final selection I made. Tri-x 400, 35/2:
A random frame from before we left to the suburbs:

And some frames I shot for myself. It was a Sunday and we were hungover. Fantastic mood to have when being out on a constructionsite.

A couple of weeks later I was on my way to the States. Visiting my sister in Boston and just travelling around for a bit. On my way there I had to transfer in Reykjavik. The views from the plane were fantastic. Like I was in a freaking National Geographic documentary. I restrained from making too much photos, cause I realised it wouldn’t render that well on film. Superia800, 50/1.7:

What I saw mostly of Reykjavik: the toilet and smokersroom.

Oh and a view from the terminal.

The view over Greenland was fucking fantastic too. Really impressive sights. When I arrived at Boston the sun was just setting (we flew with the sun for 5 hours or so, which was the weirdest thing I ever did – travelling through timebarriers) and the city couldn’t have welcomed me in a more beautiful way. I got more to show, but now… I’m heading to bed. Goodnight! And thanks for dropping by.
I’ve wanted to go to Reykjavik my whole life. You should have told me you were in Boston that’s not far from here a friend of mine is from there.
I love the reading and sitting frame.
Hehe, eindelijk weer eens foto’s…
the photo of the chairs (the same one you put on your dA’s journal) is fantastic. And YEAHH!!! I saw the exhibition! Im cool!
You fuckers! WordPress just “ate” my insightful and thoughtful prose concerning your photographs…..so I will sum up – chair photo great, want to see what you shot in Boston.

Nice post, it’s been a while. It seems that in this one you used the 35/2 more than usual, I love the superia 800 stuff, I will have to stock up on some of that. I’ve traveled with the sun before its so sureal and really messes up your body clock.
Glad that you had a good time, looking forward to seeing the shots from it.
