Some frames of the place where we stayed. Neopan1600.

A late night cig in the smokingroom:

One of my favourite frames I shot on this trip:

Morningcoffee again (shot by Myrna):

On Friday we went to the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum. Great stuff.

Joost doesn’t seem too impressed.
A frame I very clearly remember taking and which turned out exactly as I thought/hoped:

I was bright enough to compensate the exposure due to the white walls.

Crop:

Loaded up some Superia800.

Cindy Sherman being redundant:
Me doing my thing (shot by Myrna):

Wanted to shoot a mirrorportrait in the toiletroom, but Myrna “complained” how I always hide behind my camera and that her face always shows. So we switched rolls: she hid and I did not. You can tell by my stupid smile that her hiding face was cracking me up:

Fantastic exhibition by Raymond Pettibon in the basement:
Visiting the museum giftshop:
Bought a the book “Drive-by Shootings” by the NYC cabdriver/photographer David Bradford. For €5,- Very nice book, it was a pleasant surprise. His photos that he takes from the cab didn’t feel very repetitive. The accompanying essays did became a bit cheesy and repetitive at some point though.
Myrna and me waiting on the steps outside for Joost & Miek:
Me on the phone with Fabian, who we’d meet later that day (shot by Myrna obviously):

Joost enjoying his white chocolate with bloodorangefilling:
Meeting up with Fabian (who desperately needs to update his blog), Yulia and Vincent, Julien and Claire.

Having some very tasty sandwich with cheese of which I forgot the name.

And cheap wine/beer. Hanging in the park like/with true hobo’s.

(^Spot on focus, unlike the first).

We headed to a party, but I didn’t take any photos there because of the low light situation and the fact I can actually enjoy myself without my camera ;) If you watched the video I posted a couple of entries ago, you saw some of the party: the nightvision shots. And ofcourse Joost’s shoe with puke on it.
Myrna and me on our way back (I love public transport that serves at night too):

The next day we hung out at the Reichstag. The film I shot on that day I have yet to develop ’cause I ran out of D76, if there’s anything worthy to show on it, it will come later.

The pola Myrna shot there. I’m the exhausted retard in the front (while Joost hijacks my camera).
Sunday, on our way back to the Netherlands:

Thank you again for dropping by! Berlin is more or less wrapped up, moving on to the US… See you in a couple of weeks.

Berlin II
October 11, 2007
On our way in the train, which was approximately six hours. Sitting still. In a chair. I’m not so good at that, so I killed time with photographing. A lot! Tri-x loaded in my SRT-101 with the 50/1.7.

Myrna killed time by reading. Harry Potter.

It was early for our standards.

Transferring trains.

Poking ears: true love.

I was sitting backwards on my chair, leaning over the backsupport to shoot JD & Miek, when I noticed the lovely couple sitting behind them.

Suddenly the lovely couple saw me taking photos of my friends and shouted “CAMERAWAAAARRR”. Upon that they took their cameras out to shoot me. (They hadn’t noticed me photographing them before). I’m not a sissy, so I shot back.

Myrna and I found there was a wagon where you were allowed to smoke. So we smoked one. Which was weird, because I can hardly recall when it was allowed to smoke in trains in the Netherlands. We felt so cheeky.

We arrived in Berlin and took the bus to the hostel.

We wandered around the city for a bit and had something to eat. Were tired. And I a bit cranky with that, so didn’t take much photos.
The next day, Wednesday, however…
We discovered this café on the corner of our street. Which quickly became the place for our morning tea/coffee/cig ritual.

Myrna’s time to be cranky:

Then breakfast:

By that time we were all awake and started to become our insane selves.

We headed to Fotoimpex (b/w photography walhalla).

Fotoimpex, very kind guy:

We had something to drink. And I was very content with my just purchased film. (Shot by Myrna).

Walking around for a bit, when we saw this ‘Foto Schmuck’ sign which cracked us all up.

Needless to say I couldn’t breathe from laughter when I saw these frames :D

Here it stops, where the previous entry starts (so much for the chronology). I got everything developed and scanned (minus 1 roll; I ran out of D76) and much more to show. But I’ll spare you now. Think the next update will be on Sunday or so. Or is that too soon? Just want to have the Berlintrip wrapped up before I got to the US.

Thanks once again for viewing and commenting!
Berlin.

Some frames from the trip to Berlin in August. Starting halfway the third day we were there – Wednesday. I wanted to show them chronologically, but have yet to develop some Tri-x. The Neopan1600’s and Superia800 are already developed. This is Superia800, shot with the Minolta SRT-101 with the Rokkor 50/1.7.
We wanted to go to the Guggenheim Museum, but when it turned out that museum only consisted of one installation, we decided to just hang out in front of it, because the weather was gorgeous.
We all record every move we make:

But also just enjoy:
Or pretend we record:

When we were done hanging out there, we moved on to the Brandenburger Tor:
On our way there I made this groupportrait. I love how we look like a retarded highschoolclass on a fieldtrip:

And we hung out some more!
Which is an exhausting thing to do:
So we had something to drink:
And I shot some tourists:
^”Oh really?!”
The same but not quite.

Joost making a (failed) selfportrait in Myrna’s aviators, which I was wearing:

We had something to eat in a Bolliwood restaurant, which was very nice and where Joost and me became Schilferbrüders.
Then we hit the metro to go get drunk on weird sweet red wine.
That’s it for now, thanks for checking out! More (b/w) coming soon.
