A Monday in Paris
October 24, 2006
After a good night sleep we had some typically French breakfast here.
We went into town just to walk around for a bit. Then I met up with Cha again and in the meanwhile Severin and Miriam had arrived too. They had something to eat and we went down to sit at the Seine for an hour or so.
A bit of camerageeking. (apx100)
Miriam being sneaky.
La poseuse Française.
Animated conversations were being held.
Severin obviously looking pissed that I didn’t focus on him. And Miriam checking out the birds I think.
Leftovers for the Seinegulls.
I met up with my travelmates again and we walked around for a bit in Montparnasse. Had some crêpes. Chilled out for a bit on the stairs at the Sacre Coeur. (superia200)
The weather was really great, so sunny and warm, crazy for October!
Anna the Almighty
Love the atmospheric perspective here.
After this we went to Le Zenith to some festival. Which was really great actually. Shot a roll of neopan1600 there <3 But haven’t developed it yet. I’m going to a gig of Thomas Dybdahl tonight, me and my neopan are really looking forward to it. Saw him last year in October too, but didn’t bring my camera, tonight I will!
So this was Paris for me right now. No streetshots, ain’t my thing, as you obviously know right now, you have to be here for that.
A Sunday in Paris
October 23, 2006
On Saturday the 14th at 11:55 pm I took the bus to Paris. To go to some festival a studymate of mine wanted to visit, he asked me if I wanted to join and I was like “sure”. We arrived in Paris at 06:00 am and I stood on Cha’s doorstep at 07:30. The plan was to catch some more sleep but we just hung out.
Look at that content smile. (neopan400)
I like to photograph people who are photographing. I can’t shoot and talk at the same time, even without a camera in my hands I often don’t finish a sentence.
Superia400; nice film.
I haven’t photographed so many animals in my whole life as in those two days. Strange when you are on a citytrip, haha.
The infamous Renault
Galilee, a sister of Charlotte. Meeting these kids made me realise how poor my French is. Galilee and me had a nice nonverbal conversation though, involving a lot of poking, tickling and beanbagsmacking.
Mademoiselle Nutella et le chat noir:
In the afternoon I went back to my travelmates into the city, we just hung out for a bit, which was really chill. I didn’t know 3 of them actually, but they turned out to be great people.
Ate:
They forced me to eat sushi. I did like it. The saké I didn’t.
We walked around for a bit and encountered this tower, I forgot the name of. At some point it even start blinking with lights. It was truly… something.
It was a long day, without a feeling of time, but a great one.
So that was the first small selection of the photos I took, hope you enjoyed it. The second day will come soon.
Have a good afternoon!
Antwerp
October 18, 2006
In August I went to Antwerp with Myrna, to prove that you don’t have to go far to be really away (Antwerp is a couple of hours by train from my hometown)
We visited a lot of secondhanded stores. Which are supposed to be cheap, but they weren’t. Oh wait… I guess that it’s called ‘vintage’ then.
Saw some really nice retro sneakers for like €30 or so I thought, it turned out that they were €300.
Stupid non aligned Canonet.
Random
One of my favourite movies!
We went to the photomuseum
And everyday to this bakery where they had the most delicious and cheap sandwiches
Which we ate down by the river
With a cig afterwards to complete it
Stupid Canonet!
So ehrm… Hope you like this little journeydiary. I was really happy with the feedback on my first post, thanks so much for it. We will see how it goes from here, hope you stay that interested.
Photos of Paris to be collected tomorrow, the colour ones that is. I hope to get the b/w’s developed this weekend. Am excited about it, I was happy to be shooting with my trusty Minolta again! Some Bernhardphotos might come up here too at some point. I’m lagging terribly behind though with developing and printing, but there are exams coming up and I tend to get into the darkroom then, hehe.
Anywho, thanks again, hope you have a good night!
